Our earnest search has finally begun. An hour after arriving in town we jumped in our car and hit the road.
First stop was to look at a cute little 27′ Cape Dory. We like these boats. They are solid, full keeled blue water boats. Their hulls are sound and they have the feel of being sea-worthy. This one has been well taken care of. The captain has owned her for 3 years and she has done an incredible job maintaining her with a lot of little upgrades, like a fresh water flush for the diesel engine after being cooled by seawater. Nice.
It sleeps 4, has an itty-bitty galley, 2-burner stovetop (no oven). It is small however. We have decided we need to look at a bit bigger boats. Maybe this was smart. Looking at a 32′ may seem cavernous!
We have a couple more boats to see. Next up… a 32′ Fuji Ketch.
